What is the Webflow API?
The Webflow API is a RESTful programming interface that allows developers to interact with Webflow data programmatically — reading, creating, updating, and deleting CMS content, site settings, forms, and more from outside the Webflow Designer.
The API enables integrations between Webflow and virtually any other software system. Instead of manually updating content in the Webflow Editor, you can write a script (or use a tool) that pushes data into your Webflow CMS automatically.
Common Use Cases
Common Webflow API use cases include: syncing a product catalog from an ERP or inventory system into Webflow CMS, pulling data from a CRM (like HubSpot or Salesforce) and publishing it as CMS items, automating blog publishing from a content pipeline, building a custom CMS management dashboard outside of Webflow, and triggering content updates based on external events. Programmatic SEO at scale often relies on the API.
The Webflow API is RESTful, meaning it uses standard HTTP requests (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and returns JSON data. For non-developers, the Webflow API can also be accessed through no-code integration tools like Zapier, Make, and n8n.
At Appsrow, we use the Webflow API to build automated content pipelines and integrations that keep our clients' sites in sync with their business systems.
